RICK knows collaboration shapes communities, and our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Tucson (Habitat Tucson) is a notable example of how aligned missions can drive remarkable change. For years, RICK and Habitat Tucson have joined forces to tackle pressing challenges in affordable housing and community development in Southern Arizona. Our combined efforts have not only led to the successful completion of impactful projects, but also highlighted how two different entities can unite under a shared vision to create a lasting, positive impact.
“Providing affordable housing to a variety of different people really goes a long way. I think our vision and what we want to do for the community align with Habitat Tucson. They offer great programs to get the families involved in the project too. From teaching them financing to working on the homes, the families take a lot of pride in into their homes and their neighborhoods.” — Corey Thompson | RICK Senior Project Manager
RICK’s commitment to engineering excellence and innovation aligns seamlessly with Habitat Tucson’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope. By leveraging its technical expertise and resources, RICK has played a crucial role in bringing Habitat for Humanity Tucson’s ambitious projects to fruition.
A few of these projects include the Rodeo Addition No. Four Residential Development in Tucson, the St. Demetrius Single-Family Residential Property Project in Tucson, the Park Avenue Condominium Project, and the Mars Landing Rezoning and Site Analysis in Pima County. All of these properties are planned with care to fit residences as comfortably and efficiently as possible.
The Rodeo Village Neighborhood Project is in the construction phase and includes 18 lots with 1- and 2-story homes. It will be completed in early 2025.
“At Habitat for Humanity Tucson, we believe that partnerships like the one we have with RICK are essential in building stronger and more efficient communities. Together, we are creating opportunities for families to thrive and become active participants in shaping their neighborhoods. Often, Habitat Tucson will build on really challenging land parcels to deliver on mission, and RICK’s planning expertise has been remarkable to help us serve more families and make an enduring impact in the lives of those who need it most.” — Charlie Buchanan |CEO, Habitat for Humanity Tucson
The St. Demetrius Property is in the planning phase and will contain 20+/- single-family residential lots when completed. Habitat Tucson and RICK teams partnered with the University of Arizona College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture on the site planning portion to demonstrate site planning methods to local students.
The Park Avenue Condominium Project, also called the Casitas on Park Avenue, contains 21 small homes on a beautiful 1.4-acre property and has just entered the civil construction phase.
A 14-lot subdivision project called the Mars Landing Project is also in the planning phase and will contain 30 lots on 4.5 acres. This project required rezoning and site analyses support from RICK.
“These are often challenging and unique jobs due to the size of the properties, but the payoff when we complete a project is gratifying.” — Corey Thompson | RICK Senior Project Manager
RICK’s innovative teams have supported Habitat Tucson’s goal of providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to those in need. Through this partnership, both organizations exemplify the transformative power of teamwork in making a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals and families in the Tucson community.
Thank you to the project teams at Habitat Tucson and RICK for turning these projects into real homes where hard-working families can succeed.
