RICK is proud to welcome Tim Henderson as Associate Principal of Landscape Architecture. With more than two decades of experience leading design teams and guiding projects from concept through construction, Tim brings a practical and collaborative approach to design and leadership. He built his career leading teams in which planning and creativity work together to improve how people experience their communities. At RICK, he looks forward to continuing that leadership within the Landscape Architecture division.
Henderson joins RICK after 23 years with KTUA, where he served as a Senior Associate and led design for a range of public and private projects across Southern California. Known for his ability to balance design vision with technical precision, Tim has guided teams on work for agencies such as SANDAG, Caltrans, and the City of Encinitas, as well as college campuses like Grossmont and Southwestern. Many of these projects share the same vision on sustainability and long-term community benefit, an approach that aligns closely with RICK’s multidisciplinary values.

At RICK, Henderson will lead the Landscape Architecture team and build on the foundation established by Principal Patricia Trauth. Henderson’s leadership approach has stayed consistent throughout his career, with a focus on solving problems efficiently and leading teams to deliver excellent design. What drives him now is helping RICK’s Landscape Architecture group gain the visibility it deserves. RICK has the team and resources of a large company, but the divisions operate like smaller studios within the firm, each one having comprehensive access to all of the tools RICK provides. For our Landscape Architecture team, that balance has made it possible to take on complex and high-profile projects across the Southwest. Henderson hopes to see RICK recognized among the leading landscape architecture firms in the region and become a stronger presence in the landscape architecture community.
