RICK prepared Intersection Safety Studies at five intersections within the city of Sacramento, California. The safety studies were performed to evaluate existing accident patterns at the following areas:
Once accident patterns had been identified, RICK recommended mitigation to improve safety. The engineering and design services performed include site visits, analyzing accident history, preparation of accident rates, recommendations for potential mitigation, preparation of cost estimates for mitigation, and preparation of a report summarizing the collision patterns and mitigation.
RICK coordinated 34 traffic signals along two roadway corridors within the city of Sacramento, California. Twenty-one (21) intersections were retimed along the Pocket Road/Meadowview Road/Mack Road corridor and 13 intersections were retimed along the Folsom Boulevard roadway corridor. The engineering and design services performed include data collection, travel time runs, Synchro analysis, coordination with City of Sacramento staff, and timing recommendations. The recommended timing plans utilized D4 software, which controls the city’s traffic signals.
