RICK prepared construction documents for the Cerritos Avenue Bike Corridor Improvement project for the City of Cypress. This project replaced a Class III Bike Lake with both a Class II Bike Lane and an 8-foot-wide Class I Bike Bath along a mile segment of Cerritos Avenue between Denni Street and Walker Street. The project was funded by a Bike Corridor Improvement Program (BCIP) grant. The project achieved its goal of significantly improving safety and connectivity of bicyclists and encouraging higher use of the facility between the active areas of the city.
RICK provided all civil, traffic, water resources, landscape architecture, and land surveying services for the project. Specifically, the scope of services included a topographic survey, bike path improvement plans, traffic signing/striping plans, landscape/irrigation plans, specifications, cost estimate, and a WQMP. The design of this project entailed coordination with City staff and various utility companies.
