Project Description
When the Tucson regional headquarters for the GEICO Insurance Company was looking for a new home, it quickly settled on a site in the newly active Bridges development campus, which is located at the confluence of Interstate 10 and Kino Parkway in an area being developed by Bourn Companies. The new 200,000-sf, 3-story building on 19+ acres required approximately 2,000 parking spaces, including a large solar-panel-covered section. This project proved to be a catalyst for development of the Bridges area, as other major developments have followed to include several fast-food restaurants, a four-building, a three-story apartment complex, a rental home community, a hotel, and other retail locations.
