RICK prepared multiple GIS-based Master Drainage Plans (MDPs) and corresponding Storm Water Quality Master Plans (SWQMPs) for the County of San Diego for the following special drainage areas:
Each MDP included detailed drainage basin delineations, flow-line information, and watershed information that was prepared in a specific convention required for GIS processing. The hydrologic base, using GIS current soil, land use, and vegetation data, was calculated. The data was imported into AES-SIMS to prepare the detailed hydrologic and hydraulic calculations required for design of the drainage improvements for the areas.
GIS applications combined with AES-SIMS created interactive MDPs for the County of San Diego. The interactive MDPs provided 100-year peak discharges, proposed future or and/replacement master plan facility sizes, and calculated approximate replacement costs for future development.
