RICK provided engineering, landscaping, and surveying services for this design-build parking structure project in the County of Los Angeles for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). The project consisted of preparing site plans and specifications to support a proposed four-level parking structure. The parking structure is being constructed to serve commuters using the new Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension trolley.
The project required extensive coordination with the client/contractor, MTA, the project architect, and County staff. Designing the project to meet the storm drain and water quality requirements while staying within the capacity of the aging infrastructure and site constraints presented a unique challenge. The challenge was successfully met with innovative yet cost effective solutions.
