Rancho Guejito (WA-HEE-TA) is a 23,000-acre Mexican Land Grant approximately 7 miles east of Escondido. Rancho Guejito is one of the last land grants still as a single parcel of land. The Ranch extends 13 miles in length with elevation changes of over 4,000 feet. The site is currently home to expansive agricultural activities, including cattle, citrus and avocado orchards, and vineyards operating under a rigorous ranch management plan. In recent years, master planning of the ranch has begun as a means for establishing land value. Long-range plans are currently being developed that are intended to provide smart growth strategies that balance future development with the environment.
