RICK was retained by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation to perform work in conjunction with the $56M renovation of the historic US Grant Hotel. The building is located in downtown San Diego and takes up an entire block between Broadway and “C” Street and 3rd and 4th Avenues. Services included plan preparation and permit processing of parkway improvements surrounding the entire building.
The improvements consisted of enhanced sidewalk paving, ADA-compliant curb ramps, decorative street lighting, and traffic control. This high-profile project was on a tight schedule and required critical coordination with the Center City Development Corporation and the City of San Diego Development Services to process all required construction permits to work within the existing right-of-way. Other miscellaneous work included engineering studies to improve terrace balcony drainage and safety and construction staking.
