The University of Arizona Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium, with an average draw of more than 50,000 spectators per season, is one of the premier venues in college softball. RICK served as the prime civil engineering consultant for facility renovations during Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this project.
Phase 1 included construction of the 6,700-square-foot Lapan Family Center (a state-of-the-art locker and team room), new batting cages, and additional hardscape and infrastructure enhancements. Phase 2 included a stadium-wide renovation, replacement and expansion of the existing grandstand with new shaded back and bench seating, enclosed press box, club seating section, and Alumni Plaza, along with enhanced main entrance, ticket office, restrooms, and concessions. Additionally, Phase 2 refurbished softball bullpens and dugouts. Lastly, RICK provided enhanced curb, sidewalk, and drainage improvements to 2nd Street and Warren Avenue.
