RICK was solicited to provide redevelopment services in an effort to improve the aesthetic character, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, and connectivity along the main arterial of Grover Beach, California. The redevelopment program included a new streetscape with Class II bike lanes, crosswalks, medians and bulb-outs with enhanced colored glass concrete paving inspired by Grover Beach’s close proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
RICK also provided pedestrian public realm improvements, such as landscape medians, statement palm trees, street trees and tree grates, community furnishings, and streetlights that illuminate the attractive public streetscape and foster local community gatherings. The West Grand Avenue Streetscape project has set the precedence for future streetscape improvements and will be seen as an urban design and planning, landscape architecture, civil, survey, and mapping project to refer to when redeveloping Grand Avenue in Grover Beach, California.
