The City of San Diego Engineering and Capital Projects Department developed a proposed park with amenities, including a children’s play area, playground equipment, basketball courts, picnic furniture, a shade structure, trails, exercise stations, landscaping, and habitat restoration. The project included invasive species removal and the restoration of native riparian habitat along Auburn Creek, which is part of the Chollas Creek Watershed.
The RICK team managed the environmental process by assisting the City in filing and obtaining applicable regulatory permits, including USACOE 404 and CDFW 1601 permits. The project included a biological assessment, habitat restoration plan, and regulatory permit processing.
