RICK regularly provides seminars and links to seminars for municipal and development industry professionals through the American Public Works Association (APWA) and Associated General Contractors (AGC). We also provide individual training to municipalities tailored to their specific needs. Formal workshops include live presentation by qualified instructors, student training materials, and question-and-answer periods.

Construction Stormwater Management Training
RICK’s Water Resources Division has extensive experience in providing training for municipal staff and contractors for compliance with the Construction General Permit. Over the last two decades, RICK has educated thousands of contractors, regulators, QSPs, and QSDs. Topics include but are not limited to the following:

Permanent Stormwater Management Training
As industry leaders in NPDES compliance, RICK’s Water Resources Division has provided training to municipalities and development industry professionals in many aspects of permanent stormwater management. Topics include but are not limited to the following:

AIA-Approved Courses
Architects must fulfill continuing education requirements to stay at the top of their field and maintain their licenses and registrations. RICK is proud to currently provide two AIA-approved courses:
3D Laser Scanning & Reality Capture
This training provides an overview of the scanning and reality capture technology for use on modernization and retrofit projects. It reviews three successful project case studies in which scanning was integrated into a Building Information Modeling (BIM) project by designers and contractors. (1 LU)
Low Impact Development (LID)
An overview for integrating Low Impact Development (LID) BMPs into a project for MS4 Permit and/or LEED compliance is provided in this training. The course specifically focuses on integrating Bioretention BMPs to collect, filter, and slowly release storm water runoff and includes design details, specifications, and case studies. Additionally, the training highlights the collaborative effort required across disciplines, including water resources, landscape architecture, geotechnical, civil, planning, and architecture.
