RICK is honored to announce its acquisition of Strive Engineering, a civil engineering design and consulting firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are thrilled to join forces with the Strive team and to have Strive President and CEO John Meng serve on RICK’s Las Vegas Board of Directors and lead the Las Vegas team as Associate Principal. With over 28 years in the industry, John’s engineering experience, leadership expertise, and alignment with RICK’s culture will provide exceptional support for our Las Vegas team in its next phase of growth.
John’s interest in civil engineering began in a high school drafting class and grew when he joined a small firm after graduating. It was there he discovered his favorite element of civil engineering: the wide range of opportunities for problem solving. John went on to get his degree in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and since then, he has devoted his career to solving all kinds of problems.

From initial meetings with John, it became clear he and the Strive Engineering crew are aligned with RICK’s people-focused culture and strategic vision.

With over 19 years of civil engineering and real estate development consulting experience in Las Vegas and additional experience working in Utah and California, John brings a deep understanding of managing challenging, large-scale projects. To name a few, he served as a consultant for the Valley Vista Master Planned Community, the Henderson Google Data Center, and he was Deputy Program Manager for the St. George Airport Replacement Project.
John’s professional credentials also include executive and emotional intelligence coaching and motivational speaking; he has logged more than 2,000 hours of coaching and spoken globally to large audiences. Outside of work, John participates in Ironman triathlons and completed the Ironman World Championships in 2022.
With John on board, RICK has a vision for expanding opportunities in the Las Vegas area.
