RICK is pleased to announce the appointment of Kai Ramer, PE, TE, to Chief Operating Officer (COO). The new position was developed during RICK’s strategic planning initiatives last year.
“RICK’s strategy has never been more compelling and we have a lot to look forward to as a company,” said Ramer. “I am honored and look forward to helping guide the company in growth through operational leadership.”
Ramer has worked at RICK for 30 years and has been a longstanding Principal and member of the firm’s Board of Directors. Before this appointment, Ramer was responsible for building RICK’s public works practice and oversaw multiple branch offices. As COO, Ramer will be responsible for managing all technical business units – leading and supporting growth and client service, companywide.
Outside of RICK, Ramer has been highly visible and an integral part of our industry at large. He is an active member of Transnet ITOC, and the Calmentor Steering Committee. Ramer also participates in ACEC, APWA, ITE, WTS, and ASCE. He serves on the Board of Management of the East County YMCA and is Past-President of both the San Diego Chapter of ACEC and the San Diego Highway Development Association.
Ramer has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico, and is a California registered Civil and Traffic Engineer.
