RICK Partner Regional Properties Awarded Business of the Year for Dedication to Riverside Communities

Long-time RICK client Regional Properties was awarded 2023 Business of the Year by the Riverside Chamber of Commerce at its Go For Launch 124th Inaugural Celebration last month. This well-deserved award was presented for Regional Properties’ dedication in development and service to Riverside.

“The Rubins and Regional Properties saw the potential of [the Riverside] region when few others did. They believed in investing in this community and giving back to its people.”
—Richard Roth | Senator, California State Senate

RICK team members, some of whom have been working with Regional Properties for almost two decades, were ecstatic to see such a valuable organization recognized for its contributions to the Riverside community.

President of Regional Properties Michelle Rubin has been a valued client and collaborator to RICK Riverside for many years.

“I’ve worked with Michelle since I started at RICK in 2015. She is great to work with, and her expertise is based on a deep understanding of developing. It’s an incredibly positive working relationship.”

—Emily Sipes | Associate Project Manager, RICK

Our connection to the organization goes back a generation to Michelle’s father, Mark Rubin, who is widely regarded for his support to charities and educational institutions throughout Riverside.

“RICK’s relationship with Regional Properties started when former RICK employee Bob Stockton began working with Mark. Both Bob and Mark have since passed away, and Michelle and I regularly have conversations about what extraordinary people they were. Michelle exceptionally continues her father’s legacy.”   —Kristin Werksman | Associate, RICK

“Michelle and her brother Brian have followed their parents’ tradition in giving outwardly to our community.”

—Jim Erickson | Vice Chancellor Emeritus, University of California Riverside

In addition to their charitable contributions, under Mark Rubin’s helm, Regional Properties helped spark the revitalization of downtown Riverside. Supporting their community-minded mission, RICK has been honored to partner with Regional Properties for the past two decades in enhancing office buildings, mixed-use developments, and commercial developments all throughout Riverside.

“RICK teams are very innovative and creative, and I love their out-of-the-box thinking. [They] exceed our expectations.”   —Michelle Rubin | President, Regional Properties

The Mark, a recently completed mixed-use residential/retail building in downtown Riverside, demonstrates how thoughtfully Regional Properties approaches creating more opportunities for Riverside while maintaining its important historical elements.

The project rehabilitated the Stalder Building, adding to the structure while maintaining its historic façade. RICK provided civil and surveying services for the redevelopment and coordinated extensively with design teams and City departments to ensure the project met community needs.

“Regional Properties has been embedded in our community for decades now; they understand Riverside. They created the most beautiful housing in the city with The Mark.”

—Patricia Lock Dawson | Mayor of Riverside

We’re grateful that our partnership with Michelle and Regional Properties continues to result in quality spaces for the local community to enjoy. Currently, RICK is working for Regional Properties within the Mission Village and Mission Grove shopping centers to improve retail and dining spaces in the coming year.

Congratulations to Regional Properties on this prestigious recognition! We look forward to many more years of collaboration and community-centered, visionary additions to the Riverside area.
