Patricia Trauth Appears in The Daily Transcript’s “Influential Women – San Diego 2019”

Happy International Women’s Day (IWD)! Each year on March 8, the world celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people throughout Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not a country, group or organization specific because we strive for #balanceforbetter – IWD is our day – everyday!

It is important to celebrate this day in honor of the women who are driving this company, particularly our female leadership team. To date, Rick Engineering Company (RICK) has 94 women employees – nearly 30% of our work force! On IWD 2019, RICK is proud to share a story on Patricia Trauth, PLA, AICP, LEED AP, who was recognized as one of San Diego’s most “Influential Women”!

Our very own, Patricia Trauth, was recognized as one of San Diego’s most Influential Women in 2019! The Daily Transcript reported, “If you’ve ever appreciated the plants and landscape design around San Diego International Airport, you’ve witnessed the craftwork of Trauth. Over the course of her 30-year career, Trauth has planned and designed public and private projects ranging from city parks to master-planned residential communities. One of her biggest clients continues to be San Diego International Airport, where, since 2009, she’s revamped the surrounding landscape to be more sustainable, drought-tolerant, and contemporary while implementing what’s considered the largest drip-irrigation system in San Diego County. Trauth’s expertise in the field has been sought and recognized by her peers. She’s part of the Landscape Architects Technical Committee, which is the landscape architecture regulatory authority in California, and she’s an active member of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board. She’s also a past-president of the American Society of Landscape Architects’ (ASLA) San Diego chapter, is a trustee for the national organization, and was recently nominated to be an ASLA fellow. This month she was inducted into Lambda Alpha International, a global land economics society.”

Patricia, thank you for all that you do! Congratulations!
